Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2014, Volume 8, Issue 3,   Pages 417-426 doi: 10.1007/s11783-013-0558-4

Abstract: A red water phenomenon occurred in several communities few days after the change of water source in BeijingIn this study, the origin of this problem, the mechanism of iron release and various control measuressource was the cause of the red water phenomenon. The mechanism of iron release was found that the high-concentration sulphate in the new water source-fold higher than that occurring within the local source water.

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2015, Volume 9, Issue 3,   Pages 419-428 doi: 10.1007/s11783-014-0674-9

Abstract: In this study, different soil amendments, including red mud, a by-product of the alumina industry, andacid-treated, nano-treated by nano-particle milling, nano and acid-treated red muds, zeolite, corn strawResults indicated that cruciferous rape straw significantly decreased the concentrations of water solubleFurthermore, the efficiency of red mud could be increased by the treatment of nano-particle milling dueto the increase in specific surface area of red mud.
